Prayer Points For Harvest Of Souls

PRAYING WITH JESUS FOR A HARVEST OF SOULS

No one wants a harvest of souls more than Jesus. He is not willing for any to perish (2 Peter 3:9). His burning desire is that those the Father has given Him will be with Him where He is (John 17:24). Jesus wants us in heaven. He always lives to make intercession for us (Hebrew 7:25-26). The reason He was born, died, and rose again was so that as many as believe would have eternal life (John 3:16). Jesus desires a great harvest of souls.

For this reason, Jesus prays for the unity of the Church.

9 I pray for them. I am not praying for the world, but for those you have given me, for they are yours. . . . Holy Father, protect them by the power of your name . . . so that they may be one as we are one.

20 “My prayer is not for them alone. I pray also for those who will believe in me through their message,

21 that all of them may be one, Father, just as you are in me and I am in you. May they also be in us so that the world may believe that you have sent me.

22 I have given them the glory that you gave me, that they may be one as we are one—

23 I in them and you in me—so that they may be brought to complete unity. Then the world will know that you sent me and have loved them even as you have loved me.

24 “Father, I want those you have given me to be with me where I am, and to see my glory, the glory you have given me because you loved me before the creation of the world.
(John 17)

What would happen if all believers prayed the prayer that Jesus is praying for all believers?

Currently, it is said that there are 33,000 Protestant denominations and sects that have sprung up in the 500 years since the Reformation. The Orthodox Church (the earliest church) says that schism (division) is worse than heresy. The devil tries to divide us because unity – or oneness like Jesus shared with the Father – is key to the world knowing the love of the Father. When the Body of Christ shares the oneness of the Godhead, the whole world will believe.

Let’s pray John 17 – the prayer of Jesus – until we become one. And when unbelievers see us looking like Him, then they will believe. And Jesus’ desire will be satisfied.
